3AM - Joseph Johnson (book)

$45.00
sold out

Joseph Johnson’s 3:AM ran for 22 issues from 1990 to 1996. During this run rarely more than 25 copies were printed of each issue, regularly 20 plus pages filled to the margins with fantastic collage art and crude doodles layered beneath text on psychotronic cinema and cult rock music. Featuring a vast array of reviews of films and records from something weird 60s schlock to 80s shot on video shockers, campy garage rock like the mummies and cramps to the likes of obscure hardcore and metal acts, along with biographies of prolific figures, like Russ Meyer, Paul Naschy, Ron Asheton, and Alice Cooper. My personal favorite part of 3:AM are the manically expounded gonzoid tales of no-doz abuse for marathons of indulgence at trips to horror conventions, record fairs, road trips to distant obscure theaters and stores. Clocking in at over 200 pages including all 22 issues of 3:AM and several single one-off zines all taken from the original masters, Joesph Johnson’s 3:AM is one of the best fanzines the world hasn’t seen.
